Hortus conclusus — was a visual performance with a sound collage, set in the private quarters of artist M. Kardinal. This time, the center of the performance was not the rooms, but the garden. The performance was accompanied by Ch. Sonntag — a friend of the artist, a video artist himself, and also a former occupant of Mademoiselle’s rooms. In this interaction of the senses, one can easily see an homage to the garden as a place of creation, truth, and lies. This garden is staged as a dream world: it is a hortus conclusus where shadows — taking the form of fantastic pipe-dreams — shroud twigs, leaves, and blossoms. Magic metamorphoses grow out of shifted dimensions and illuminated shapes.

Hortus conclusus — war eine visuelle Performance mit Sound-Collage, die in den privaten Lebensräumen der Künstlerin M. Kardinal stattfand. Ihr magischer Garten bildete den Mittelpunkt der Aufführung. Begleitet wurde die Performance von Ch. Sonntag, einem befreundeten Videokünstler und ehemaligen Bewohner der Kardinalgemächer. Entstanden ist bei diesem Zusammenspiel der Sinne eine Hommage an den Garten als Stätte von Schöpfung, Wahrheit und Lüge. Als Inszenierung einer geträumten Welt wird dieser Garten dargestellt: er ist ein hortus conclusus, in dem sich Schatten — als phantastische Utopien — um Zweige, Blätter und Blüten ranken. Verschobene Dimensionen und illuminierte Formen erzeugen magische Metamorphosen.

Hortus conclusus — è stata una performance visiva correlata da un collage sonoro, svolta negli ambienti privati dell’artista M. Kardinal. In quest’occasione la cornice dell’opera non sono state le stanze ma il giardino, divenuto centro. La performance è stata accompagnata da Ch. Sonntag amico dell’artista, video-artista egli stesso, ed in passato residente nelle stanze della Mademoiselle. Il frutto in questa interazione dei sensi si rispecchia nell’omaggio al giardino quale luogo di creazione, di verità e di menzogna. Il giardino è lo spazio fisico di un mondo immaginato: è un hortus conclusus in cui le ombre — i ramoscelli intrecciati, le foglie, i fiori —danno vita ad una fantasia utopica. Una meravigliosa metamorfosi che si plasma su dimensioni in movimento, e su forme illuminate.
